Wordless Wednesday – Variations

Monday I posted a few hot rod photos and nothing says vintage hot rod like a flat head V8. I love the simplicity of these engines and the concept that almost any “shade tree” mechanic could work on them with a few wrenches and screwdriveres. Now, you need thousands of dollars of computerized equipment to tell you what is going on inside those new motors.

  1. The new engines sure does put the shade tree mechanics out of business. Progress.

Love all the edits. I love your photography.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. 🙂

    1. There should be a sign in the engine compartment of new cars, “Authorized Personnel Only”.

  2. Those are all really cool…or hot may be the case!

    1. Cool car or hot rod, it’s all about having a sweet ride.

  3. Pretty darn cool. Love the “shade tree” mechanics term!

    1. It’s a term my dad used for the guy who worked on this own car. In the summer you just drove the car under the shade of a tree and worked on it yourself.

  4. Nice, very nice. Working on our own cars again would also be nice.

    1. I am afraid that most of us will not work on a car again. It has just become too difficult for the average person.

    1. I’m a little partial to that one as well. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Beautiful images, you are the king of photo editing. I go to a lot of car shows and I am always amazed at how much space is under the hood of the older cars and how cram packed the same space is in new cars. I love the old cars but I like owning the new cars.

    1. I’m with you. Since I can afford to own a hot rod and have a mechanic on call, I prefer the convenience of the newer models.
