Happy New Year!

Lucy celebrated her second birthday on December 24th. Her new cousin Bruno came for a visit. He is a 10 week old chocolate lab and already outweighs Lucy by a pound. At first Lucy was not all that thrilled with her new cousin, but after a day or two they were peacefully co-existing. I believe in another couple of days they would have been close friends.

Well, the New Year is upon us and I will just start by saying that I am long past the resolution phase of my life. I am more into rolling with the punches and adjusting to the flow. We haven’t planned any major trips for 2019, but I am sure there will be one big vacation in our agenda.

2018 was an exciting year. The second granddaughter graduated high school. The oldest granddaughter graduated college in May, got her first teaching job in July, got married in November, and the newlyweds spent Christmas at our house! We took a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands in June and spent a few days in a condo in Branson, MO to unwind after the wedding. Now we are looking forward to what the new year has to offer.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

The theme for this week is to post an Elvis song done by a different artist of the same era. Actually, I am posting a song by the original artist that Elvis covered in the same year and became a major hit for the King. Here is Carl Perkins with “Blue Suede Shoes/”

  1. Driller,

We certainly are on the same page today. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t do New Year’s resolutions anymore, either. I prefer to do everything that I possibly can within reason each year and if I’m blessed to see a new year then try again. Here’s to a very happy fulfilled 2019 to you and yours, my friend. Thanks for joining the 4M gang on the dance floor!

  2. I don’t do resolutions and haven’t for many years. Setting myself up for failure and I don’t like that idea.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. The pups are pretty photogenic when treats are involved. My wife was holding snacks behind me.

  4. The pup cousins need to get together just often enough to stay friends, but not often enough to plot mischief together!

Great music choice, and i hope you are having a wonderful 2019.

    1. The pups live far enough apart that visits will be infrequent. I don’t think they will ever be “kissin’ cousins”.

  5. Oh my gosh, I didn’t know that! WOW, thanks for that bit o’ rock & roll history my friend! Great tune & WOW look there’s Eric Clapton too woo hoo & then George Harrison startin’ Blue Suede Shoes… totally cool! 10. Happy New Year! I’m with you – I haven’t made a resolution in years. I don’t like putting that kind of pressure on myself. ๐Ÿ˜‰ LOVE your song choice, that video was so much fun to watch, especially with all those cool peeps in it! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great week!
